英文摘要
Increasing world-wide numbers of capture operations based on alkanolamine solvents in the past decade and the associated expertise gained in this area have shown a strong necessity for an integrated solvent reclaiming process to maintain the absorption capacity and efficiency of the solvent. Even though the reclaiming process for liquid solvents has been used for many decades in oil and gas industries, there are no efficient reclaiming processes to handle single, mixed and formulated solvents that have been introduced recently in the gas processing and CO2 capture fields. In collaboration with HTC CO2 Systems Corp., a Saskatchewan-based CO2 Capture and Utilization Company, a new reclaiming process for degraded solvents and glycols from industrial gas processing and purification will be studied in detail. The main goal of this proposed NSERC CRD research study is the development of an efficient technology to reclaim formulated solvents and glycols contaminated with impurities and degradation products during industrial gas treatment processes. The process separates degradation products and other types of impurities from the solvent and prevents operating problems such as foaming, corrosion, fouling, plugging and changes to the solvent properties. The demonstration of this novel reclaimer technology will provide fundamental engineering data to design commercial reclaimers with low capital/operating expenditures (CAPEX and OPEX), low energy consumption, and decreased waste for disposal. Predictive models will be developed for solvent properties to quantify the benefits of the newly developed reclaimer compared to the
