Laser projection is a technology trend in the projector industry. The use of lasers in projectors provides considerable advantages as compared to the traditional projectors based on lamps and LEDs such as longer life time, larger color gamut, higher efficiency and brighter illumination. The laser projectors are considered to be the next generation projectors for various applications such as digital cinema, home theater and portable display. However, due to the coherent nature of lasers, random interference speckle patterns will be generated when laser lights are reflected from a rough surface such as a screen. Laser speckle degrades the image quality
