The Arctic environment is experiencing climate change faster than anywhere else on Earth. It's critical that scientists and policy-makers have high-quality data on which to base their conclusions and modeling efforts, and on which sound decisions can be made in the best interest of Canadians. Long-term observing systems in Canada's north are an extremely cost-effective way to collect these high-quality and widely relevant meteorological, oceanographic and geophysical data in the Arctic marine cryosphere.
