Although Nikola Tesla proposed the wireless power transmission concept over 100 years ago, wireless power is only now a new and rapidly growing market. The use of near-field coupling for wireless power transmission has increased dramatically; significant steps have been taken to improve safety and efficiency and demand for wireless power and data transmission has increased across technology markets. The potential of this technology is limited, however, due to the significant drop-off with distance of near-field coupling.
