The International Linear Collider (ILC) project is expected to be the next world-wide particle physics facility. Its accelerators will collide electrons on positrons at energies from 500 GeV up to 1 TeV. While the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN has discovered the Higgs and helps understand the origin of mass, the ILC will be essential in extending these discoveries and making precision measurements on these particles, their properties and modes of interaction. The two facilities are highly complementary and are both needed to probe and push the most fundamental theories of our physical world.
