Computer aided cardiac image diagnosis

We propose to develop a cloud based information system for computer facilitate and full automatic computer aided cardiac image diagnosis. Cardiac disease is considered as a significant medical problem worldwide. Non-invasive cardiac imaging (e.g. Cardiac CT and MRI) has offered a great tool to diagnosis and tracking of diseases. However huge amount of information (e.g. dynamic cardiac MRI is about 300M-1G.) is associate with each scan and all their previous scans. There is urgent need of both semi- and full-automatic intelligent tool to help physician on their daily diagnosis, longitude analysis and population study. Our research will enable Canadian cardiac healthcare provider to optimize their services and resources; will greatly reduce sudden death and improve the quality of life for senior population. Moreover it will further enhance the national and international reputation of Canada and industrial partners for cloud, imaging and big data research; encourage industry, and academic units to work together for challenging problems, which has been proven to be an efficient training environment for HQP.
