With the ever increasing drive towards a digital age, the need for new faster and lower powered molecular electronics is apparent. Materials based on Single-Molecule Magnets (SMMs) are a promising avenue to explore. By controlling the physical properties of the SMMs at a molecular level, through design and engineering, we can create molecules with unique magnetic properties and in turn potentially control the assembly and overall physical properties of the nanomagnetic material. These materials have application in high-density memory storage, quantum computation and spintronics. The proposed research will apply novel synthetic methodologies in inorganic synthesis and nanomagnetic materials science to address the challenges currently faced in the commercially application on these materials.
