The development of information and communications technologies such as laptop computers, cell phones and personal digital devices has transformed the way we live. Essential to the continuation of these technological advancements is the need for smaller, lighter, cheaper and more efficient electronic, optical and magnetic materials. In that regard,transport property measurements are vital to the characterization and implementation of new materials into next-generation electronics. A cryogen free variable temperature electrical transport measurement system capable of studying thin-film, single-crystal or bulk samples of inorganic, organic and organomain group materials is therefore requested. By eradicating the need for liquid cryogens, cooling water and high power requirements, the requested instrumentation is a cost effective low maintenance solution to physical property studies.
