X-ray Optics for Biomedical Imaging Applications

As principal investigator and team leader, Prof. Chapman has led the design, specification, construction, and initial operations of the world-leading BioMedical Imaging and Therapy (BMIT) facility at the Canadian Light Source (CLS). BMIT is now among the global leaders in human and animal health research using synchrotron radiation. In parallel with personally guiding the development of this uniquely Canadian resource, he has developed extensive biomedical and clinical collaborations enabling new research from cancer detection to bone health to cystic fibrosis. These collaborations and his continued development and application of advanced imaging technologies provide a rich multidisciplinary environment for training of HQP.
