I expect to spend the next few years working primarily on the rigorousconstruction and analysis of various classes of models used in condensed matterphysics. Modern mathematical models used to study the behaviour of large systems ofparticles (like crystals or gases) at low temperatures are so complex that, inpractice, it is only possible to make predictions based on them byintroducing radical approximations. My research attempts to make a sufficientlythorough analysis of the models to be able to judge the validity of theapproximations.
