Macadamian has developed a micro services-based IoT accelerator platform called Hive. To demonstrate itspotential in accelerating connected healthcare solutions, the company has embarked on the development of aconcept called My Diabetes Coach in collaboration with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).My Diabetes Coach is a novel solution to help youth with type 2 diabetes cope with and better manage theirdisease through a companion mobile application and patient portal for access by their parents and clinicians.Diet, physical activity, sleep, stress, weight management, and medication adherence all play an important rolein mitigating the impacts of the disease but these can be daunting to manage for those living with diabetes, andoften more so in a youth or young adults. In light of the above, My Diabetes Coach aims at assisting patients to manage their blood glucose withinspecified target ranges. To this end, it is required to add smartness to the decision-making process byimplementing powerful data analytics tools. This project targets the development of data analytics algorithmsin order to provide real-time decisions according to the patients' needs and healthcare provider's requirements. This project will provide Macadamian with the opportunity to integrate effective data analytics tools into theirplatform to improve patient insights, engagement, and recommendations from their connected health solutionsbuilt on the Hive platform.
