Our strategic research vision is to apply 2D materials to the grand challenge of electronics, and contribute to the advancement of Canadian excellence and leadership in the burgeoning field of 2D materials. The 2D geometry is ideal for the fabrication of transistors, whether of conventional or emerging designs. The atomic layer thickness of 2D materials realizes the physical limit to the ideal transistor geometry. Gervais brings together expertise in materials, characterization and device applications to provide world-class, multi-disciplinary research training in 2D materials for solid-sate physics and electronics.
