The proposed research has three main aims (i) to understand the sources, causes and *consequences of individual behavioural plasticity for survival and reproductive success among *non-human primates, and their ability to withstand rapid climate change (ii) to break new *ground in our understanding of the flexibility of human reproductive decision-making in cross-*cultural perspective and (iii) construct a new way to think about the evolution of mind, which *encompasses recent advances in cognitive science, anthropology and comparative psychology. *Together, this research will allow us to recognize and rise to the challenges of living in the *Anthropocene.*
