The proposed research has three main aims (i) to understand the sources, causes and consequences of individual behavioural plasticity for survival and reproductive success among non-human primates, and their ability to withstand rapid climate change (ii) to break new ground in our understanding of the flexibility of human reproductive decision-making in cross-cultural perspective and (iii) construct a new way to think about the evolution of mind, which encompasses recent advances in cognitive science, anthropology and comparative psychology. Together, this research will allow us to recognize and rise to the challenges of living in the Anthropocene.
