Timber, as a renewable material, has the potential to be material of construction of low-rise as well as high-rise buildings. The wood's market share is the lowest in the construction of such buildings in comparison to other construction materials. There are several heavy timber structural systems, such Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), Nailed Laminated Timber (NLT), Glulam Rigid Frames, Glulam Braced Frames, and Hybrid Girders. However, no detailed study has been done to assess the behaviour of different heavy timber structure systems under wind loads, and also no accurate and yet simple analysis and design tools are available to handle the structural design of such buildings. The final objective of this research program is to develop comprehensive guidelines as well as tools that can be used to analyze and design different heavy timber structural systems. The current study is the first step to achieve the final objective by assessing the behaviour of different heavy timber structure systems with different heights under wind loads.
