英文摘要
Accelerated Systems Inc. (ASi) creates intelligent drivetrain solutions for battery electric and hybrid vehicles. Their unique focus on non-automotive vehicle applications helps customers capitalize on the same opportunities that car companies are realizing for fuel efficiency and environmental benefits. The company's products and services help vehicle manufacturers innovate improvements to vehicle features, drivability, and performance quickly. ****ASi and the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Hybrid Powertrain Program at McMaster University have an ongoing collaborative R&D effort to investigate emerging technologies and develop power dense electric systems for light electric vehicles. In this project, the ASi and CERC teams are joining forces to develop an advanced axial-flux switched reluctance machine for ASi's next generation traction drive systems. For this purpose, the ASi and CERC teams will work on different aspects of the machine design and build a prototype to test and validate the design concept. ****The end results of the project will benefit the company by providing it with a lower-cost, more reliable and leading-edge electric traction drive system. The project will also serve as an advanced research and development program for the company. The design and testing techniques that are developed, the resulting findings, and the innovations of this project will be transferred to the company and utilized in ASi's next generation products. Besides, the highly qualified personnel trained in this project will become a potential hiring asset for the company. The expertise gained in this proposed research will facilitate the development of design, simulation, testing and validation of high-performance and higher-efficiency motors. **
