My CRC chair has led to innovative research in watershed hydrology that is advancing scientific *understanding of water cycling in Canadian Shield watersheds. This work, based in the Sturgeon *River-Lake Nipissing-French River (SNF) Watershed, focuses across multiple scales, and *couples process-based science with the use of tools such as modeling and stable water isotopes *(SWI). Major achievements include the development of the Watershed Analysis Centre, the *generation of an extensive regional SWI dataset to characterize sources and transit times of *streamflow, and the development and testing of hydrological modeling tools for simulating water *quality and quantity.
