My research program will focus on hydrothermal sulfide deposits that form on the seafloor as a result of circulation of seawater through oceanic crust at submarine mid-ocean ridges and subduction-related environments. Emphasis will be placed on deposit size and distribution, deposit evolution over time, and how these deposits are preserved in the geological rock record. **With growing interest in the exploitation of these metal-rich deposits, this research will develop and employ state-of-the-art exploration technology and analytical tools to increase our understanding of seafloor hydrothermal circulation, and the potential for sustainable development of marine mineral resources.
