However, detecting signals of impending crises requires analytic tools to filter and restructure**the data for reliability, relevance, and machine accessibility format. Media Sonar, a company that provides**technology-based data-driven solutions, leverages big data in the complex social domains to improve safety**and security with actionable insights. Media Sonar would like to develop and implement a signal detection tool**to assess the risk of impending events and provide indicators of early warning signals based on the latest**available data and information. The utilization of this tool, implemented as an "Alert Thresholds" module in**the company's existing platforms, will help Media Sonar to inform its clients about possible threats with**potential for large-scale impact in order to trigger prompt and effective interventions. We propose to use**statistical methods and analysis of critical slowing down in data-driven models to uncovering nuanced trends**and identify tipping points that may lead to significant events. This will be tested for use cases that revolve**around protection of individuals, risk detection, and event monitoring for safety and security.
