Analysis of huge data becomes a challenging open problem, which calls for innovative ways to deal with it efficiently. Granular Computing oriented on processing information granules arises here as a highly promising alternative. Recognizing data abstraction and processing as an ever-present need in perception and modeling complex systems, we establish a coherent and comprehensive conceptual platform of Granular Computing. The proposed investigation of novel and promising granular models will develop, conceptualize and design algorithms for constructing intelligent systems to benefit environmental, agricultural, energy, and human health sectors with expected ancillary advantages to machine learning, data mining, and high-performance computing.**
