There is currently a great deal of interest in the use of unlicensed frequency bands for cellular system services.**The state of the art standard for cellular system transmission is known as LTE. As a result this new system is**commonly referred to as LTE-U. The push for LTE-U is motivated by the great success of cellular services**based on smart-phones and the associated shortage of spectrum for cellular systems, and the fact that there is a**large amount of spectrum that has been allocated to WiFi services, especially in the 5 GHz band. However the**WiFi community is concerned that the "incursion" of LTE systems into the WiFi unlicensed bands will result in**degradation of the quality of WiFi based services. The purpose of this project is to determine the impact of the**addition of these LTE-U services on the WiFi services. The project will introduce various parameters to model**the behaviour of LTE-U transmissions in the WiFi band and at the same time determine the impact on the WiFi**services.
