The overall objective of this experiment is to investigate the effect of addition of an antibiotic (neomycin) in milk replacer (MR) on calf health, growth, and intestinal microbial populations. Improving our understanding of how antibiotics alter gut microbiota and host gut function in calves will lead to improved strategies to reduce intestinal infections in calves and thereby reduce the need for antibiotic use in calves.**
