The recent advance in container-based virtualization is drastically changing the way of designing, deploying**and maintaining applications. In fact, today's applications are commonly organized as micro-services managed**by orchestrators like Kubernetes offering high scalability and flexible management. Adopting this virtualization**and management technology is boosting DevOps approaches taking advantage of its fast deployment and**continuous update capabilities. Adopting this tendency for the management of VNFs (Virtualized Network**Functions) is promising and expected to enable NetDevOps capabilities. The generic nature of microservices**orchestrators enable agnosticity over cloud platforms and VNFs while facilitating scalability and simplicity of**implementation. However, VNF-specific monitoring and management functionalities could significantly**improve orchestration effectiveness.**Kontron is leading and well contributing in network virtualization initiatives. In fact, with its SYMKLOUD**Kubernetes Platform, Kontron has eliminated the integration headaches of Kubernetes and Docker engines to**ensure a faster set up of any cloud environment. Moreover, Kontron ensures that its SYMKLOUD Kubernetes**Platform replicates the work done by Canonical to make Kubernetes as secure as it is easy to deploy, operate**and upgrade. During, the proposed collaboration, Kontron is planning to develop novel VNF-specific**monitoring and management methods and tools and integrate them to its SYMKLOUD Kubernetes Platform.
