In collaboration with UBCeram Group Hudson Resources Inc is continuously assessing the potential of its**anorthosite deposit to be used as a cementitious material with refractory properties, Chemically Bonded**Anorthosite Cements. These structural cements could be produced with nearly zero-CO2 emissions associated**with its production and exhibit chemical resistance to acidic and sulphate solutions. These potential properties**and advantages of the novel cements were already studied, verified and tested in simulated field conditions.**The continuation research proposed in Engage Plus program will focus on process development for cheap,**tough and fire-resistant composite material, of substantial chemical durability. The effects of composition and**thermal treatment on the hardness of these materials will be studied to assess their potential as ceramic material**for architectural elements, countertops, tiles and other components.
