Nexas Networks Inc. (Nexas) in an innovative local company focused on Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Since forming in**2010, they have developed hardware and software in the area of machine tool connectivity. This combination of hardware and**software is capable of bringing existing computer controlled (CNC) manufacturing equipment into a high-tech digital age.**A limitation to Ontario realizing the maximum benefits of manufacturing facility digitization is the age of CNC equipment currently in**operation. Most machines currently in operation were designed in a time where each machine required a dedicated operator and**performed a singular operation. Nexas has developed technology that can allow for the modernization of virtually any**manufacturing facility that is comprised of CNC equipment.**Manufacturing is an industry that requires rigorous testing and proof of concept before adopting new technologies on a large scale.**Nexas Networks Inc and the McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) are collaborating to develop the MMRI into a**vendor neutral proving ground for the development and showcasing of a digital revolution in manufacturing techniques and**capabilities.**This project will focus on integrating Nexas hardware into the existing infrastructure of MMRI CNC machinery. This will provide a**wide range of machining techniques, communication requirements, and sensor data for more robust testing and development of**Nexas technologies, while also establishing a true centre of excellence in industrial digitization.**Nexas Networks Inc. www.nexasnet.com**MMRI mmri.mcmaster.ca**
**Nexas Networks Inc. www.nexasnet.com**MMRI .mcmaster.ca**
