Background and Problem. A number of genetic variants called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been previously reported by genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to be associated with the metabolic response to omega-3 fatty acids. However, little is known about the potential role of these SNPs as predictive biomarkers of the decrease in plasma triglyceride levels.****Objectives. To create a genetic panel allowing to the design of an innovative and improved DNA test for the metabolic response to omega-3 fatty acids. ****Relevance. To identify genetic biomarkers associated with the plasma triglyceride response to an omega-3 fatty acid supplementation that can be used by an industrial partner interested in nutrigenetic testing. The setting-up of this panel of SNPs will lead to the improvement of a DNA-based nutrigenomic test by the industrial partner partner. ************
