HiHo Mobility is the founder of Uber-style requests for rides, tools, supplies and assets. Currently, their on-demand tools, supplies and assets are packed in removable smart lockers that can go on the backs of a platform cart so that technicians and others can access the items that they need in-the-field without the need for their own expensive vehicles. This can significantly reduce the problem of under-utilization of work vehicles costing which are estimated for only 5% of a day utilization. The company is intending to use electric vehicle to address the demand for reducing greenhouse gas emission. To achieve this goal light-weighting of the smart lockers and the platform cart is critical. This project addresses the light-weighting need by studying the feasibility of using advanced light material and technologies in design and manufacture of light-weight removable lockers and cart structure.
