La nanostructure des cibles d'ablation laser pour la génération de plasma est un facteurdéterminant du volume, de la densité et de la forme de la plume du plasma. Nous étudierons lelien entre cette nanostructure et l'efficacité de créer un plasma assisté d'un champ électrique pourla génération d'impulsions intenses de radiation TeraHertz (THz), utilisées pour la caractérisationde couches minces, la science des polymères, et l'imagerie biologique. Ce projet de collaborationrassemble deux équipes de recherche ayant une vaste expertise et des infrastructures uniques denano-synthèse, nano-caractérisation et de génération de THz ainsi que deux partenaires industrielslocaux qui fournissent d'une part des technologies plasma de pointe parmi les meilleures au mondeet d'autre part des solutions spectroscopiques résolues dans le temps inégalées. Ce projet vise ledéveloppement de solutions nanotechnologiques pour répondre à une demande de sources THzintenses et stables.
