Time-Domain and Multimessenger Astrophysics

My research tackles open questions in the evolution and death of massive stars, the origin of unusual astronomical transients, and the physics of stellar explosions. My innovative approach is to combine multi-wavelength observations of transient phenomena with studies of resolved stellar populations. I leverage wide-field time-domain surveys (e.g. KMTNet, ZTF) and gravitational wave facilities (LIGO, LISA), as well as advances in stellar astrophysics enabled by high-precision space-basedphotometers (e.g. Kepler, TESS) and large-scale spectroscopic surveys (e.g. SDSS, MSE). Sitting firmly at the intersection of fields poised for rapid progress, I am developing a comprehensive picture of the evolution, influence, and ultimate fate of massive stars.
