The focus of the Canada Research Chair in Advanced Catalysis for Sustainable Chemistry is to advance catalytic science for synthesizing chemicals from sustainable feedstocks, critical for improving the energy and atom efficiency, reducing fossil fuel consumption, and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. The multidisciplinary research program focuses on strong integration across the diverse disciplines in nanotechnology, advanced spectroscopic strategies, chemical kinetics, and material engineering to design new catalysts at the precision of atoms that are able to direct molecular traffic precisely, and thus enable next generation catalytic conversion technology for the production of fine chemicals, sustainable fuels, and energy.
