The overall goal of Dr. Kjeangs CRC research program is to enhance the longevity of devices used for electrochemical energy systems, with a primary focus on fuel cells. Such advancements will have a positive impact on the sustainability of the energy systems, reduce the cost of the technology, and accelerate their commercialization.The fuel cell industry has the potential to become a billion dollar supply chain in Canada and capture a significant part of the global automotive fuel cell market. Moreover, their increased market penetration will substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, which will translate to significant economic and environmental benefits for Canada.
