项目摘要
I will work on developing theoretical methods describing the interaction of intense light with matter. Areas of application will be in attosecond science, in x-ray imaging, and in laser machining. Attosecond science is about making movies of fundamental processes, such as the making and breaking of molecular bonds. For the interpretation of experiments strong theoretical support is indispensable. Recently, our theoretical work has shown how to extend attosecond science from gases to solids. This opens a new field with exciting applications, such as all optical imaging of the bandstructure of solids and imaging of electrical signals in semiconductor devices.
