英文摘要
EHT Guys specializes in the maintenance, commissioning and construction of Electrical Heat Tracing systems. They are a Canadian company, based in Waterloo, ON, committed to simplifying and modernizing the heat trace process for their clients. They want to develop a unique software application called Live Monitoring Dashboard, which will have the ability to centralize and display real-time data and alarms collected from any manufacturer's heat trace systems. This application will allow clients to see the overall status, and health, of their heat trace systems, and will allow for the prioritization of alarms for maintenance staff in order to greatly reduce time spent sorting through alarms and to better manage workloads. When industrial piping is exposed to very low temperatures there is a real risk of fluids freezing and bursting the pipes, potentially leaking harmful substances into the environment. Likewise, many industries require maintaining process fluids at a specific temperature for use in manufacturing processes. Electrical Heat Tracing is the method used to keep these process fluids at a specified temperature. Typically, these systems are equipped with local control capabilities to allow for programmable heating sequences, and alarm signalling. To illustrate, an average industrial facility has over 3,000 heat trace circuits, typically generating 450 active alarms per day. Given the potentially catastrophic nature of heat trace system failures a qualified electrician is required to investigate and diagnose each instance, with many of those alarms being nuisance alarms. This creates an overwhelming backlog of work for technicians, so there is a need to consolidate data capture from local controllers and to migrate that data online to facilitate a real-time picture of the health of the cabling systems. With support from Conestoga's SMART Centre, EHT Guys are seeking to develop and advance the technology in this sector to make maintenance and engineering easy for their clients.
