The KneeKG is a revolutionary technology used clinically during a knee kinesiography exam allowing measuring mechanical deficits in gait in patients with knee problems. However, it is now imperative to facilitate the large-scale deployment of the KneeKG system. For Emovi, this project will lead to a new generation of the KneeKG, which is less expensive and more versatile, in addition to developing a new product applicable in telemedicine. Moveck Solution offers support to researchers and manufacturers in their technological developments via a modular platform in biomechanics. This project will demonstrate how, at each level, the development suite proposed by Moveck enables the transfer of knowledge from academia to industry. This project has four objectives. Objective 0 is to build a large interoperable database (BDD) that will subsequently allow the application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. Objective 1 is to confirm using the BDD and AI methods that it is possible to replace the current KneeKG motion sensors with much cheaper inertial sensors while identifying the same mechanical deficits. Objective 2 is to use AI to provide new mechanical biomarkers for new clinical indications from BDD. Objective 3 aims at developping a proof of concept for an application in telemedicine to facilitate remote clinical and functional evaluation of patients, using an AI method of pose detection. For Emovi, this project will lead to a new generation of KneeKG that is more versatile and less expensive to produce, in addition to developing a new telemedicine product. This project will also demonstrate how Moveck's development suite accelerates the knowledge transfer.
