The Canada Research Chair in Water Quality Protection is advancing Canada¿s ability to protect aquatic environments and promoting innovation in the important water sector. The research supports municipalities, industry and governments, in assessing environmental risks of human activities, developing new water treatment and monitoring technologies, and testing remedial actions to address cumulative effects of stressors affecting watersheds. By advancing the understanding of multiple stressors, within the context of natural variability and climate change, more robust and sustainable water management practices and options can be developed and implemented to protect, remediate and monitor impacts on water resources and ecosystems.
