英文摘要
One of the greatest uncertainties in forecasting the effects of global environmental change on ecosystems is related to understanding how it will affect species interactions such as predation; and the Canada Research Chair in Polar and Boreal Ecology responds to such need. The innovative program investigates the role of predator-prey interactions in mediating climatic impacts on arctic-nesting birds and their predators. In a second term, the Chair will integrate trophic interactions under direct and indirect human perturbations into a single framework, strengthening our understanding of the population dynamics of migratory birds and their predators.
