英文摘要
Literacy skills are necessary for academic achievement, career opportunities and social participation. While everyday tasks such as texting, Facebook updates, twitter, etc. may seem like seamless activities, the actual coordination of brain signals to complete such tasks is nothing short of elegant. Dr. Cummine¿s research serves to advance our knowledge of how the brain is wired to support literacy and how the various brain regions ¿talk¿ to one another that makes the next email we send feel ¿automatic¿. Such work is important in today¿s society where academic, professional and social media platforms are extensive and rely heavily on written communication.
