New Brunswick Community College (NBCC)'s answer to the special Federal Budget 2021 call for business-college applied research partnerships is to focus on four critical and rapidly expanding themes related to information technology, aligning with private sector priorities as well as regional challenges:- Mobile & Ubiquitous Computing (MUC)- User Experience (UX) - Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)- Artificial Intelligence (AI)The themes of this proposal are focused on both the successes and challenges of New Brunswick-based businesses. Our plan is to utilize established strengths of NBCC applied research (Mobile & Ubiquitous Computing; User Experience), as well as emerging areas of expertise (Industrial Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and others) to address business needs. Projects will contribute directly to new product and service development for New Brunswick-based companies - to expand their markets as well as explore new use cases for existing technology.
