This research project aims to develop an improved understanding of aerosol movement in aircraft cabins. The goal is to conduct an experimental validation of on-going Computational Fluid Dynamic modeling of aerosol movement in indoor spaces. The goal is that the experimental validation of the CFD modeling in ANSYS FLUENT and STAR-CCM+ will facilitate future designs of aircrafts that will minimize the risk of transmission for airborne diseases and infections, such as the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
