衣鱼是一类小型的无翅、不变态昆虫,具药用价值,但也是图书文物害虫。作为有翅昆虫的姐妹群,衣鱼在昆虫纲中具有十分重要的演化地位。目前,全世界已知衣鱼6科144属590余种,但DNA条形码数据不足10种,衣鱼的单系性及其高级阶元的系统发育关系均不明确。长期以来,中国衣鱼分类研究几近空白,仅记录10余种,严重阻碍了对衣鱼的认知和深入研究。. 根据多数衣鱼喜热、喜湿的特性,本项目拟首先开展中国东南地区衣鱼系统分类研究,理清种类和分布格局,建立DNA条形码数据库,并测定各科代表类群转录组,构建高级阶元系统发育关系。同时以衣鱼为不变态昆虫模式,建立发育研究平台,全面分析胚后发育过程及其基因表达模式,从演化发育生物学(evo-devo)的角度,比较低等六足动物、不变态昆虫和变态昆虫的发育及其激素调控相关通路的基因表达模式,为探求昆虫变态发育和翅的发生等重要科学问题寻找突破口。

Zygentoma is a group of wingless and ametabolous insects. It has good medicinal value, but also damages books, papers, dry food and closets. Zygentoma occupies a very important evolutionary position as the sister group to all winged insects. So far, 6 families 144 genus and more than 590 species of Zygentoma are known in the world, while DNA barcodes from only less than 10 species are available. The monophyly and phylogeny of Zygentoma are far from clear. For a long time, the taxonomic study of Zygentoma in China has been almost blank (only about 10 species recorded), which has seriously hindered the intensive study of Zygentoma.. Due to most species of Zygentoma prefer to high temperature and humidity, this project aims to make a systematic investigation and study on the taxonomy of Zygentoma in Southeast China, in order to clarify their species and geographical distribution, initially establish the DNA barcode database of Zygentoma, and construct the phylogenetic relationships of five extant families of Zygentoma based on transcriptome data. In addition, we will develop 1-2 species as the model organism of ametabolous insects, and systematically study their developmental processes and gene expression patterns during the post-embryonic development. By comparing with basal hexapods and metabolous insects, we will focus on the differences in gene expression of hormone-related pathways, in order to explore the molecular evolutionary basis of insect metamorphosis and wing formation.
