隐存种一直困扰着分类学家。隐存种不仅促使人类更深刻地理解生物多样性,也会深远地影响如检疫、卫生防疫、病虫害防治等诸多应用领域中具有重大经济价值的物种的准确鉴定,进而影响到经济活动和生物安全方面的决策。隐存种更是将分类学、系统发育模式与生态系统功能、进化过程结合起来的桥梁。越来越多的证据表明榕树与传粉榕小蜂一对一规则不再是教科书的专性传粉互惠共生的范式。传粉榕小蜂的隐存种的发现是这种规则破裂的主要原因。虽然通过分子鉴定和DNA条形码发现了许多传粉榕小蜂的隐存种,但至今为止尚无隐存种在基因组层面上的构架分析。本项目拟在同一个传粉榕小蜂属(Ceratosolen)中选择姊妹隐存种和非姊妹隐存种,以及没有隐存种且与榕树维持一对一规则的传粉榕小蜂,通过基因组重测序和基因组数据分析,利用全基因组数据界定隐存种,解析与成种、表型进化停滞(即表型相似)相关的基因组格局和特征。

Cryptic species has always been plaguing taxonomists. It not only promotes a deeper understanding of biodiversity, but also profoundly affects the accurate identification of species with significant economic value in many application fields such as quarantine, sanitation and epidemic prevention, and pest control, etc., thereby affecting decision making in economic activities and biosafety. Furthermore, cryptic species is a bridge that combines taxonomy, phylogenetic models with ecosystem functions and evolutionary processes. There is growing evidence that the one-to-one rule of fig and fig pollinator wasps is no longer a paradigm of obligate pollinating mutualism system. The discovery of cryptic species in fig pollinator wasps is the main reason for the breakdown of this rule. Although many cryptic species of the fig pollinator wasps have been discovered by methods of molecular identification and DNA barcoding, there is no genomic architecture analysis of the cryptic species. In this project, based on the fig pollinator wasp genus of Ceratosolen, we intend to select sister and non-sister cryptic species, as well as the species that have no cryptic species but maintain one-to-one rule with fig species, to obtain the genomic data by re-sequencing techniques. We further demonstrate genomic data analysis on these species, to define cryptic species, to analyze the genomic landscape and characteristics that may be associated with speciation and stasis of phenotypic evolutionary stasis (i.e. phenotypic similarity).
