针对西北太平洋板块俯冲及与其相关的水迁移和岩浆活动的重要科学问题,本项目将通过超密集的短周期地震台阵探测,并汇集已有流动台阵及固定地震台网的数据,利用深度学习自动拾取高质量的震相到时数据,联合地震体波、面波和全波形层析成像方法及利用非对称路径背向散射波揭示地幔转换带间断面小尺度起伏的新方法等,获取高精度的西北太平洋俯冲带上地幔及地幔过渡带的速度、泊松比、各向异性及间断面结构信息。通过火山区的超密集短周期地震台阵探测,以多种高精度地球物理约束信息来显著提高火山岩浆系统的辨识度,并依据三维的地震各向异性特征,结合多尺度成像反演得到的壳幔精细速度结构及界面特征,综合地震学、地球化学和岩石学及火山学与矿物物理计算和动力学数值模拟等研究成果,探讨西北太平洋俯冲板片形态及介质变形、岩浆活动和水运移之间的动力学联系,为重大计划的西太平洋板块俯冲与地球深部流固相互作用的核心科学问题研究提供新的地震学证据。
英文摘要
The subducting Northwest Pacific plate significantly influenced the tectonic, magmatic and metallogenic evolution of the Northeast China. However, the origin and mantle dynamic that is responsible for the intraplate volcanism in Northeast China is highly debated. To investigate the role of the subducting Northwest Pacific plate in the evolution of East Asian continental margin, this project will install a high-density seismic array with ~400 short-period seismometers to image the detailed magmatic system beneath the volcanic field. Combined with all available data from portable seismic array and permanent network in Northeast China, we are able to use tomography methods of body and surface waves, and full-waveform inversion to determine a high-resolution seismic model of P- and S-wave velocity, Poisson's ratio, and anisotropy structure of the upper mantle beneath Northeast Asia. And we will use scattered P'P' seismic waves and receiver function method with common-conversion-point stacking technique to image the small-scale (~10 km) topographic variations of the mantle transition zone. Then we would have integrated observational constraints on seismic anisotropy from the splitting of shear waves, the character of P-to-S conversions, the surface wave, and the SKS splitting tomography. These would help us to understand the spatial variation of anisotropy of crustal and mantle for characterizing the lithospheric deformation and mantle flow dynamics, and improved our understanding of the crust-mantle coupling relationship and the subduction processes beneath Northeast China. Then we are able to directly relate seismic velocity anomalies of lithosphere to melt fractions and distributions of the magmatic system by integrating petrological, geochemical and other geophysical studies. And it will further improve our understanding of the involvement of the subducting Pacific slab for the magma evolution of Northeast China and water migration in subducting zones.
