家族控制与企业竞争行为研究

本课题拟从家族控制角度探讨企业的竞争行为及企业成长路径，具体包括以下主要研究内容：基于竞争理论、企业行为代理模型、社会情感财富理论、制度理论等系统地构建一个"家族控制-竞争行为-企业成长"的理论框架，并提出一系列假设；构建企业竞争行为的测量体系及竞争中所使用的语言词库；通过定性与定量研究的方法对比分析家族控制与非家族控制在竞争行为上的差异性及其根源；将正式制度与非正式制度因素纳入竞争行为的研究模型，并分析这些制度因素在家族控制与竞争行为之间所可能产生的影响作用；探讨竞争特性对企业绩效、企业增长期权价值的直接影响作用及其在家族控制与企业成长之间的中介效应。本项目将竞争行为作为家族企业分析单元，这将拓展企业成长理论的研究空间；基于中国的经验数据对理论假设进行检验，探索竞争行为的选择对企业成长所可能产生的影响，这将有助于找到影响中国企业成长之关键因素，并为实践工作者提供建议。

This project intends to explore the firms’ competitive behavior and their growth path from the perspective of family control. The main contents are as follows. Firstly, we develop a systematic theoretical framework as "family control-competitive behavior-firm growth" based on the competition theory, behavioral agency model, social-emotional wealth theory, and institution theory, and propose a series of hypothesis accordingly. Secondly, we construct a measurement system for competitive behavior and a vocabulary thesaurus for the competitive language. Thirdly, we clarify the differences between family controlled and non-family controlled firms in competitive behavior through both quantitative and qualitative methods. Fourthly, we take formal and informal institutional factors into the research framework about competitive behavior, analyzing their positive or negative moderating effects on the relationship between family control and competitive behavior. Fifthly, we discuss both the direct effect of competitive characteristics on firm performance and value of growth options, as well as its mediating effect between family control and firm growth. This project takes the competitive behavior as the analysis unit of the family firm, which will enrich the research scope of the firm growth theory. Based on the empirical data in China, the theoretical hypotheses are tested to explore the growth path of Chinese firms, particularly the influence of competitive characteristics on firm growth. This project contributes to figure out the key factors affecting the growth of Chinese firms and provide suggestions for practitioners.
