It is of great theoretical and practical importance to explore and develop the sensing strategies for pesticide residues assay due to their influence on national interests, human health, and social stability. Limited by the sensing strategies and the performance of signal sources, previously reported sensors suffered from the tedious process and weak stability, and thus cannot meet the requirement for sensitively and accurately detecting pesticide residues in agricultural products. Thus, in this project, we propose to develop photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors based on conjugated polymers and to apply them in the analysis of pesticide residues. Monomers that can recognize acetylcholinesterase (AChE) were prepared through organic reactions, and were further employed to fabricate PEC sensing interfaces through electrochemical polymerization technique. The response of conjugated polymers-based PEC sensors to AChE was systemically investigated, and the relationship between molecular structure/aggregation structure of conjugated polymers and analytical performance was also studied. Further, the proposed PEC sensor was employed to detect pesticide residues based on the inhibition of AChE activity by pesticide, providing a high-performance PEC sensor for pesticide residues analysis with strong stability, high sensitivity and good selectivity. Thus, this project is of great scientific importance, and innovative research results are expected.
