US-China Cooperative Research: Atomic Processes In Muon- Catalyzed Fusion

这是堪萨斯州立大学的Chii董林博士与中山大学的包正光教授和中科院高能物理研究所的刘贤慧教授为期两年的合作研究项目，目的是研究原子聚变。原子聚变过程在高能物理研究中具有重要意义。这项研究得出的数据可能对能源开发有用。美国P.I.是超球面坐标研究领域的专家，而中国的合作者开发了处理超球面调和函数的方法。这两种技术都是理解原子聚变所必需的。这项研究是互惠互利的，可以推动这一研究领域的发展。

This is a two-year collaborative research project between Dr. Chii Dong Lin, Kansas State University and Professors Bao Cheng-Guang, Zhongshan University and Liu Xian-Hui, Institute of High Energy Physics, Academia Sinica, to study atomic fusion. The atomic fusion processes are important in the study of high energy physics. The data derived from this study can be useful in energy development. The U. S. P.I. is an expert in the field of hyperspherical coordinates research, while the Chinese collaborators have developed methods for dealing with hyperspherical harmonic functions. Both techniques are needed for understanding atomic fusion. The research is mutually beneficial and can advance this field of research.
