Future Directions in Arctic Research

这次研讨会的目的是将从事几个正在进行的美俄项目的北极社会科学家和当地领导人聚集在一起，帮助规划未来的国际合作方向。一个目标是在分析和建立北极生物资源管理制度方面与土著领导人建立更好的联系。贯穿这些不同项目工作的一个共同主题是，首先需要制定创新的体制安排，能够兼顾与整个生态系统有关的区域和国际视角，以及当地群体(主要是土著群体)的关切。

This workshop is intended to bring together Arctic social scientists working on several ongoing US/Russian projects and native leaders to help map future directions of international collaboration. One goal is to establish better links with Native leaders in analyzing and building management regimes for Arctic living resources. A common theme running through the work of these various projects is, above all, the need to develop innovative institutional arrangements capable of accommodating regional and international perspectives associated with whole ecosystems, and the concerns of local, largely indigenous, groups.
