Workshop: Support for Workshop on Multilingual Information Management

这次讲习班的目的是讨论如何将现有技术组合成一个连贯的框架，以便以多种语言使用多功能自然语言系统。随着世界变得越来越依赖全球信息资源，人们越来越多地利用多模式和多语言技术来服务于单一语言用户群体。该讲习班将评估多语种资源、信息检索、机器翻译、多语种语音识别、跨语种摘要和信息提取、多媒体通信、评价和评估以及自然语言处理的方法和技术。经过公众讨论和批评后，将向赞助商提交一份报告。

This workshop is intended to address questions of how current technologies can be assembled into a coherent framework for multi-functional natural language systems in multiple languages. As the world becomes more and more dependent on global information resources, multimodal and multilingual technologies are being increasingly drawn upon to serve monolingual user populations. This workshop will assess multilingual resources, information retrieval, machine translation, multilingual speech recognition, cross- lingual summarization and information extraction, multimedia communication, evaluation and assessment, and methods and techniques for natural language processing. A report will be presented to the sponsors after public discussion and critique.
