B09 pursues a deeper decompositional analysis of the modification of nouns and verbs by selected classes of adjectives that can modify both. The decomposition of adjectives, nouns and verbs employs frames and cas-cades of frames. The project focuses in particular on action-related adjectives such as intentional, attentive, reluctant, aggressive, stupid, and skillful. The case studies address theoretic questions concerning criteria of subclassification, composition, and modification in general.
