Since the proposition of the spin as an additional intrinsic property of electrons ninety years ago, various spin analysis and detection techniques have been established. In many spectroscopic measurement techniques, electronic properties of materials including the electron spin can be analyzed to discover and understand exciting physics or find novel materials for future electronic applications.Despite continuous improvements, efficient spin measurements remain challenging. Due to the lack of measurement efficiency, many spin-related material properties are largely unexplored. For an effective spin analysis, a new type of measurement technique is needed. Recently, highly efficient measurement systems have emerged. These techniques allow rapid measurement and pave the way for new insights in solid state physics. The objective of the research project is the set-up and characterization of a novel highly efficient spin resolving spectrometer by implementing and combining various new techniques. With this spectrometer, it is planned to analyze materials that are subject of present research. It is envisaged to work closely with Prof. Shen and Dr. Sobota during the research stay. The given supplement in knowledge of our groups as well as the overlap in scientific interest and experimental methods fits perfectly together and is predestined for a cooperation. Furthermore, the scientific network, knowledge and experimental skills are enhanced. Finally, the studies abroad induce excellent career prospects in science.
