The rediscovered manuscript Ms Eisenach 1361 of the Wartburg Foundation and its partial parallels: edition and location in space and time

With the rediscovery of the manuscript Ms Eisenach 1361-50 held at the Wartburg Foundation, an important find was made. Not only will it be of great importance for the research of medieval mysticism, as has been pointed out recently and will be clarified here; with it the question of philosophical and theological-scholastic education in Middle High German is raised.In this project the applicant intends to present a critical edition of the texts of the Wartburg manuscript, on the basis of reception history, taking into account the partial parallels of a Berlin manuscript and a Munich manuscript. The edition is preceded by an introduction, the edition is provided with various critical apparatus and a commentary, which will lay the foundation for further research into questions of theological and philosophical education in Middle High German.
